Pancakes with purpose

Today, March 7th, is National Pancake Day! IHOP is celebrating its 12th annual National Pancake Day by holding a fundraiser for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society nationwide.

They are hoping to raise $3.5 million for the LLS, which is the world’s largest voluntary health agency dedicated to blood cancer— last year, they raised close to $4 million for children’s charities. IHOP Restaurants has raised $24 million since the first National Pancake Day in 2006 to support charities in the local communities in which they operate.

How it works

On National Pancake Day, visit participating restaurants from 7am to 7pm (some will stay open until 10pm; find participating locations here) and receive your free short stack of IHOP’s world-famous Buttermilk pancakes! You’ll be asked to leave a voluntary donation to benefit the local Leukemia & Lymphoma Society program in your community.

You can also opt to forego the pancakes and donate online, but I vote pancakes.

National Pancake Day Fun Fact!

IHOP Restaurants expect to serve more than 5 million free pancakes on National Pancake Day this year. When stacked, that would be nearly a whopping 19 miles high.
