Here are four places still collecting school supplies in Delaware on behalf of the local students and classrooms that need them.

For a lot of area kids, school starts this week; some lucky ducks get another week or two of summer. At our school, supply lists don’t come out until the school year has already started, which means we do our back-to-school shopping later than most. If that’s the case for you too, here are five places still collecting school supplies in Delaware on behalf of the local students and classrooms that need them.

Gloss Salon

Gloss Salon will be collecting school supply donations to help support our local schools and students through the end of August. Bring in a school supply item to any of their Delaware locations (Union Street in Wilmington, Market East Plaza in Newark, 77 East on the UD Campus) and be entered into a drawing for a Gloss Salon Basket.

Hocker’s Super Center

The Southern Sussex Rotary Club and Hocker’s Super Center are holding a school supply fundraiser for the G.W. Carver Academy August 28th from 10am to 2pm at Hocker’s Clarksville location. Lists of school supplies will be provided and shoppers can choose what they’d like to purchase and donate. Cash donations will also be accepted, to go towards book bags.

Anthropologie

Anthropologie at the Christiana Mall is collecting school supplies in support of the Delaware School for the Deaf. New or gently used supplies can be donated through September 7th. In addition, shoppers with school or teacher ID get 15% off full-price items.

AAA Mid-Atlantic

AAA Mid-Atlantic’s “Building Blocks to Support Our Future Members” campaign will accept new, unused school supplies through September 15th. Donations collected by AAA locations in Delaware will support Claymont Elementary, Jennie E. Smith Elementary (Newark) and Hartly Elementary (Hartly); pencils, composition books and folders are most urgently needed.

You can drop off school supply donations at the AAA location at One River Place in Wilmington, on Churchman’s in Christiana, and on Greentree Drive in Dover.

Mount Pleasant

You can drop off school supplies at this one day community recycling event at Mount Pleasant Elementary, on Saturday August 27th. They are particularly asking for pens, pencils, erasers, colored pencils, folders, notebooks, dry erase markers and backpacks.
