Who’s up for a bit of culture this weekend? In the spirit of the Smithsonian museums in DC, which are always free, museums across the country are offering free admission on March 12th.
Here are the rules:
Only one ticket per household, good for free admission for two at ONE participating museum on Museum Day, March 12th. You must have an official ticket, which you can download from the Museum Day website.
Participating museums in Delaware are:
Treasures of the Sea Exhibit: Georgetown
Hagley
There are a lot of participating museums in PA, these are the ones I would consider to be daytrip distance:
Antique Automobile Club Of America Museum: Hershey
Athenaeum of Philadelphia
Philadelphia History Museum
Sigal Museum: Easton
Brandywine River Museum: Chadds Ford
Historic St. George’s: Philadelphia
Independence Seaport Museum: Philadelphia
The Academy of Natural Sciences of Drexel University
The African American Museum in Philadelphia
The Print Center: Philadelphia
National Museum of American Jewish History: Philadelphia
The B&O Railroad Museum among others are participating in Baltimore, if you wanted to do a day trip in that direction.
