YOU GUYS. I’m a sucker for a food festival, and cheesesteaks are my lifeblood, so you betcha I’m excited about Philly’s first Cheesesteak Festival taking place October 24th at Lincoln Financial Field. In addition to 40+ CHEESESTEAK VENDORS FROM THE PHILADELPHIA AREA OMG, there will be celebrity chefs, live entertainment, sports memorabilia and craft vendors, carnival games, zipline rides and a mechanical bull.
There will also be a cheesesteak competitive eating competition that I should probably register for (every time I order at Capriotti’s, I’m asked “you know the large is 20 inches, right?” YES, I KNOW, and it’s a perfectly sized meal).
Bring your Philly pride, as Philly will be bringing the world record for World’s Largest Cheesesteak back where it belongs: by constructing a cheesesteak over 450 feet long.
Yep.
Food samples will be a combo of cheesesteak proper and cheesesteak-derived foods like cheesesteak eggrolls. There will be vegetarian and gluten free options. And of course beer, because Philly, but also because it’s a well known fact that beer makes cheesesteaks better.
