Of all my favorite things in the world, a Dairy Queen ice cream is pretty darn high on the list. If we’re talking strictly ice cream, Mr. Softee would win by just a hair, because it’s so exciting for me to actually run across a truck now that I don’t live in the city anymore. But for reliably delicious self-indulgence Dairy Queen reigns, well, king.
Anyway, today is one of the most wonderful days of the year, Free Cone Day at Dairy Queen. “The day where DQ gives a free small vanilla cone to every Fan in America,” for an early taste of summer all day long.
The fine print: free cones are available at participating non-mall U.S. locations only, with limit one per person.
