Venture Outdoors Fest is an event that takes place twice annually at different State Parks around the state of Delaware.

DNREC’s Division of Parks & Recreation has announced that registration is open for “Venture Outdoors Fest.” At Lums Pond State Park, from Friday, May 15 – Sunday, May 17, “Venture Outdoors Fest” will showcase the myriad outdoor recreational activities available to Delawareans.

Activities include:

  • stand-up paddle boarding
  • zip-lining
  • horseback riding
  • hayrides
  • rock climbing
  • Irish road bowling (?)
  • option of tent camping in Area 3 for one or two nights free of charge.

Those who choose to stay at the campground can do so for the standard campground fee. Information about Lums Pond campground and rates here.

Lunch and dinner provided on May 16, along with breakfast on May 17. Adult beverage samples will be provided to those 21 and older. Live music will be offered on Friday and Saturday nights, as well as s’mores around the campfire.

Free tent camping is available from May 15 at 6 p.m. to May 17 at 10 a.m., and all activities take place on May 16. Attendees must be at least 18 years old.

Tickets are $50 per person, and include meals, activities and games, music, camping, and a t-shirt. If participants wish to add the GoApe Treetop Adventure to their itinerary, the cost is an additional $37. For only $25 extra, you’ll be transported to and from Lums Pond State Park to the Delawre Rock Gym for 2 hours of climbing fun.
