We’re hurtling through the last few months of the year! Time seems to speed up once September ends, and the holiday season will be here before you know it. The “Thanksgiving for All” Food Bank of Delaware food drive is underway— here’s the 411 on what, when and where to donate to make sure everyone has a Thanksgiving feast on their table.

The Food Bank of Delaware needs your help to provide 2,500 Thanksgiving meal boxes for Delaware families in need!

Food Bank of Delaware Food Drive: When to Donate

To ensure your donations make it into these boxes, they will need to arrive by Friday, November 4th (donations received after that date will be distributed to partner organizations).

Where to Donate

If you’d like to coordinate your own food drive, you can have the Food Bank drop off and pick up barrels for collection (each barrel holds between 150-200 pounds). If your donation consists of fewer than 20 bags/boxes, they ask that you drop it off at one of their warehouses between 8:30am and 4pm or at a designated drop-off location:

Food Bank of Delaware locations

  • Milford, 1040 Mattlind Way

What to Donate

Specific asks include canned sweet potatoes, peas, corn, pumpkin and gravy; evaporated milk; applesauce; coffee or tea bags; corn muffin mix; mashed potatoes (I presume boxed); graham cracker crust; turkey pan and frozen turkeys (frozen turkeys must be dropped off to Newark or Milford warehouses, obviously).
