This will shock pretty much anyone who knows me, but I used to be not terrible at dodgeball in grade school. Not because I possess any inherent athletic ability, but because I was snaky hipped and not the type of person the other team would deem enough of a threat to target or to keep an eye on.
So, oftentimes I would wind up being the last or next to last person left on my team, at which point I would get pummeled by both sides. But I put on a good show!
My point is that I always found dodgeball to be a great equalizer in the world of sports. Unlike football or basketball or gymnastics or volleyball, where you really have to have some grasp of the basic rules AND some experience before you can be of any use to your team, dodgeball can be picked up quickly and be playable right out of the gate.
Of course, with practice you can be really good at it too.
And when you add trampolines to the equation it gets really exciting.
Ultimate Dodgeball combines the athleticism and excitement of traditional dodgeball with the world’s first ever wall-to-wall trampoline park’s patented playing court. And you can be part of that awesome insanity.
The eight best teams in the world will be competing for a grand prize of $50,000 in the 2016 Ultimate Dodgeball Championship in Las Vegas, and there’s still time for you to assemble a team to try to qualify. Sky Zone in Newark is hosting our Ultimate Dodgeball local qualifier on Sunday, June 12th.
Compete with your team of 5 to 8 people (matches are 5 on 5, you can have up to 8 on your roster so you have subs). Or just go and spectate! It should be a day of crazy fun either way!
You can register your team onsite or online.
