Cass Says:
I got a movie in the mail. The first movie was called Berry Brick Road. The second movie was called Bloomin Berry Garden.
Bloomin Berry Garden is a good movie. The first part of Bloomin Berry Garden is a adventure, the second is a mystery, and the third is a problem.
One part of Berry Brick Road is like the Wizard of Oz but the good witch is Plum Pudding, the wizard is Huck, the Tinman is Peppermint, the lion is Orange Blossom, the bad witch is Ms. Grapes, the the little people are Lemon, Rainbow Sherbet, and Blueberry Muffin and the scarecrow is Ginger Snap, and the witch gets turned into a stone.
Do you like to eat Strawberry Shortcakes? I bet you will like these DVDs.
Mom Says:
I loved Strawberry Shortcake when I was a kid, and I love that Cass loves her now. The Strawberry Shortcake gang is as sweet and wholesome as ever, and after seeing these DVDs Cass watched every other episode available on Netflix. The songs are catchy— I’ve caught Cass singing them to herself many times 🙂
The Berry Brick Road story is, obviously, a rendition of The Wizard of Oz, a movie that Cass has only seen once or twice (removing herself from the room for harrowing scenes like the twister, the flying monkeys and if memory serves, the trees throwing apples). She really liked this version but if your daughter loves the original, she may be upset by the deviation from the story.
Bloomin Berry Garden had some themes about trust, gossiping and the importance of every person— and accepting them as they are— that made for some interesting conversations. It’s nice to have this as a touchstone for discussion. She hasn’t really encountered any “mean girls” yet but I know those years are coming, and I think it’s good to lay some groundwork early.
Overall, though, these DVDs are sweet and simple fun with subtle little life lessons that any young girl will enjoy (and perhaps the occasional older brother watching out of the corner of his eye). NOT annoying or smart-talky like so many of the options targeting this age group! A great gift for Easter baskets or for watching over spring vacation.

Synopsis:
Strawberry Shortcake is back just in time for Spring and is so sweet you will need two helpings! Touching the hearts of children for decades, this wildly successful franchise is back with two more magical tales, Strawberry Shortcake: Berry Brick Road and Strawberry Shortcake: Bloomin’ Berry Garden, blossoming on DVD March 6 from Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment.
First, Strawberry Shortcake: Berry Brick Road follows Strawberry and her friends as they retell the classic “Wonderful Wizard of Oz.” When a cyclone blows Strawberry to the strange land of Oz, she runs into trouble with the Wicked Witch and must journey to the Emerald City to ask the Wizard how to find her way back home.
Next, Strawberry Shortcake: Bloomin’ Berry Garden shows that it’s time for garden growing fun with Strawberry and her friends as they prepare for the Spring Flower Festival! But when magical sparkles make the Berrykins grow tall and the girls shrink down small, they discover that even when they’re tiny, they can make a big difference.

Why people still make use of to read news papers when in
this technological world the whole thing is presented on net?
Woah! I’m really loving the template/theme of this blog. It’s simple,
yet effective. A lot of times it’s very hard to get that “perfect balance” between usability and appearance. I must say that you’ve done a awesome job with this.
Also, the blog loads very quick for me on Opera. Excellent Blog!
