hotel kid friendly philadelphia

hotel kid friendly philadelphiaYes, I know Philly is just a hop, skip and jump away. But every so often the kids and I get to stay in a hotel that’s close to home, and you know what? It’s awesome. None of the pressure and all of the fun.

If you’ve been thinking about hitting up some Philly museums soon anyway, why not combine it with the Flower Show and make it a whirlwind tour? You’ll have a place to take a break when you get tired, and the kids will talk about how much fun it was for forever.

Some options include:

DoubleTree by Hilton Philadelphia Center City: located on the Avenue of the Arts. Guests are greeted with signature chocolate chip cookies, and there’s an indoor pool on a 5th floor deck overlooking Broad.

Four Seasons Hotel Philadelphia: right in the heart of the museums, so you can walk to your heart’s content. Family friendly, offering toys and complimentary baby and toddler essentials- bedtime snacks and diaper genies. One Logan Square.

Holiday Inn Historic District has a rooftop pool and Game Cube. Just sayin’. 400 Arch.

Loews Philadelphia: has kid-friendly menus and Fisher-Price welcome gifts, plus an indoor pool. Kids under 18 stay free. Pet friendly too! The Loews Loves Pets program panders your pooches. (Sorry. Couldn’t resist.) 1200 Market St.

Omni Hotel at Independence Park: Kids get a free backpack full o’ goodies like a flashlight, canteen and Twizzlers. Suitcases full of games and toys are on lend, and the hotel has its own kid-centric website and indoor pool. I’ve been in this one and it is beautiful! Also, there’s an Aveda spa.  401 Chestnut.

Rittenhouse Hotel: Kids get a gift, plus bathrobes and slippers for turn-down and the Goodnight Philadelphia Book (think Goodnight Moon). Older kids get a Media Ticket good for one in-room movie and bag of popcorn. The Rittenhouse also offers discounted tickets for the Philadelphia Zoo, Please Touch and Adventure Aquarium. 201 Rittenhouse Square.
