We’ve already covered low-cost, family friendly movies playing this summer in the air conditioning. Here are some options to see a flick outside– arrive early to claim the best spot, spray on some bug spray, and don’t forget to bring snackos and a chair or blanket!
Keep in mind these events are outdoors and therefore weather dependent. We’ve included each venue’s Facebook page so you can check on your movie before you go.

Movies on the Beach & Bandstand
Named one of the best summer outdoor movie events in the US by TravelMag, Movies on the Beach take place on Mondays at dusk, while Movies on the Bandstand are Fridays at dusk (weather depending).

Dewey Movies at the Beach
Monday night is movie night in Dewey. Movies begin at 8:30pm on the beach at Dagsworthy Avenue; glow necklaces are available with a $1 donation while supplies last.

Drive-In Movies
If you love a drive-in theater experience, the closest ones (depending on your location) are the Delsea in Vineland NJ and Bengies in Middle River, MD (home of the biggest movie theatre screen in the USA, apparently). They show the same movies you’d see at your local theater, but have extremely reasonable food prices. Delsea shows double features.
