Pokémon and natural history have a unique connection! The founder of Pokémon, Satoshi Tajiri, collected insects as a boy, and was interested in becoming an entomologist. He created Pokémon to share his enthusiasm for collecting critters!
And, Pokémon can arranged using phylogeny — a scientific term for a detailed evolutionary family tree. Just like real scientists, Pokémon fans discuss, debate and analyze how the information should be categorized.

The person with the highest CP (Combat Power) caught during the day will receive a prize package, including four admission passes to DMNH for a future visit.
