Presented by the Delaware Art Museum Council, the Holiday House Tour returns for its 30th year on Saturday, December 10, 2016. Beginning at 10:00 a.m. and ending at 4:00 p.m., the self-guided Tour features five spectacular “Houses with History” bedecked for the holiday season. Funds raised from the 2016 Holiday House Tour will support the Delaware Art Museum’s Education Department.
The five Greenville-area houses featured on the tour–all within a short driving distance of the Museum–include the following spectacular historical homes:
– The estate that inspired the Brandywine Valley moniker “Chateau Country”
– The venue for the du Pont / Roosevelt bridal party luncheon in 1937
– A manor house location for meetings of the National Woman’s Party
– A beautifully restored grand residence first planned as an escape from city summers
– A stately house with the nickname “Mount Vernon”
The Tour will coincide with the Museum’s annual Winter Arts Festival, which will feature regional artisans and live holiday music. Visitors are invited to the Museum from 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. on Tour day for live seasonal music, light holiday fare by Toscana in the Thronson Café, and shopping in the Museum Store. Artisan shopping will be available with 20 vendor booths on Saturday, December 10 and Sunday, December 11 from 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

In addition, many venues do not project an end time for their events. In those cases, we selected our best guess, but the duration of your event may vary.
