Summer’s kind of a bummer when you become an adult and you don’t get July and August off, you don’t get to go to summer camp, and you don’t get to sleep until the soaps start. (I’m probably in a very small minority here, but I vividly remember not bothering to get out of bed until I heard the silvery strains of the Young & the Restless theme song.)

Anyway, I don’t know if you’ve ever sat around thinking to yourself: why don’t they do summer camp for adults? But I have. And it turns out, they do.

Bonus: with alcohol!

Camp Chaddsford is an exclusive, annual, adults-only summer camp experience. It takes place at Chaddsford Winery, so just a short jaunt for those in northern Delaware. Activities include:

  • a specially-curated Wine Tasting featuring Chaddsford Artisan Series wines, wine cocktails and more
  • a progressive Beer Tasting by Locust Lane Craft Brewery (Malvern, PA)
  • friendly team-based games all day, including archery, corn hole, Mad Libs, sack races, Case Box Challenge, Whiffle Ball Home Run Derby, arts & crafts and volleyball
  • a Pig Roast Dinner from Hood’s BBQ (with vegetarian options too!) including a drink ticket for wine or beer

Attendees can visit the various activity stations throughout the day, at their own pace. Camp Badges will be provided and can be stamped at each station to earn additional drink tickets.

Tickets are $65 per person which includes access to all activities. They are sold out for Sunday July 22nd, but tickets are still available for Saturdays July 21st and July 28th; camp runs from 11am to 6:30pm.

You can buy your Camp Chaddsford tickets here.

Chaddsford Winery is located on 632 Baltimore Pike in Chadds Ford, PA. I was there last year for their Adult trick-or-treat (wine pairings with candy), which was awesome— great service, fun atmosphere, generous pours— so keep an eye out for that event this fall!
