Yoga in the Vineyard

11:00 rain or shine at Paradocx Vineyard in Landenberg: will be moved inside if needed. $25 for a 60 minute yoga session followed by a wine tasting. Beginners are encouraged, bring your yoga mat.

Stars & Stripes Scavenger Hunt

11am at the Lums Pond Nature Center in Area 5. Explore different areas of the pond as you hunt for hidden flags! Free with park admission.

Chadds Ford Winery Red, White, and BBQ

Delicious BBQ from local food trucks, live music, and PA-made wine from 11am-7pm. Say cheers to our country’s 240th birthday with 17.76% off wine case purchases, or pick up a Patriotic Wine Pack for $17.76 (saving over $7). $10 admission fee includes access to the party as well as your first glass of wine. Town of Elsmere Independence Day Celebration

The party starts at 5pm at Fairgrounds Park, with fireworks at dusk. Food trucks (including Mr. Softee and Kapow— great fish tacos!) and vendors will be on site and a shuttle will be available from Town Hall to the event. Rain date will be Sunday July 3rd.

July First Saturday in Dover

Most events on the Green at First State Heritage Park.

18th century Dancing 1pm, 2pm, 3pm & 4pm. Costumed interpreters will teach you how to dance like Caesar Rodney!
Stars and Stripes 9am – 4:30pm at the Johnson Victrola Museum. Enjoy patriotic music recorded by the Victor Talking Machine Company played on authentic talking machines.
18th-century Games and Amusements 9am – 4:30pm.
Heroes of the Revolution Walking Tours offered hourly, starting at 10am with the last tour leaving at 3. Meet at the John Bell House on The Green.

Free Concert at Trap Pond

The Shakers play Rock and Roll /Funky Blues. Concert begins at 6:30.

Blue Rocks vs Winston-Salem

The Blue Rocks honor our local heroes by including them in a very special Military Heroes card set. The first 1,000 fans will receive the card set. 7:05pm start time.

287th Army Band on the Rehoboth Bandstand

Free, starts at 8pm.

The 287th Army Band is the band of the Delaware National Guard. Organized in Wilmington, Delaware in 1921, the 287th was originally the band of the 198th Coast Artillery Regiment. The band served in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater in World War II being stationed at Bora Bora and later occupied Japan. The band has traveled to Bolivia in 1993 and Germany in 2005.

Fireworks from the Battleship New Jersey

The decks of the World’s Greatest Battleship are open for guests to experience the unique view of the Independence Weekend fireworks shows! Music, food concessions and bar service. Tickets are $10 per person.

US Army Band “Pershing’s Own” Concert and Fireworks

The United States Army Band, one of the nation’s premier musical organizations, returns to the Great Plaza at Penn’s Landing for an evening full of music, followed by a patriotic fireworks display presented by Comcast NBC Universal & Pyrotecnico. Starts at 8:00.

Steamin’ Days at Auburn Heights

12:30 to 4:30 at Auburn Heights Preserve on Hockessin. During Steamin’ Days at Auburn Heights, the site truly comes alive. Tour the magnificent 1897 mansion that was home to three generations of the Marshall family, and ride the 1/8-size Auburn Valley Railroad and antique Stanley Steam Cars. All tickets include entrance to the grounds and the Marshall Steam Museum and can be purchased here.

Blue Rocks vs Winston Salem

Fireworks after the game. Plus, Sundays are Sunday Fundays at Frawley Stadium: kids can play catch on the field before the game, participate in a free pre-game autograph session with Blue Rocks players and run the bases following the game. Buy 1 ticket for a Sunday home game and get a second ticket of equal or lesser value half off with the donation of a non-perishable food item at the box office. Starts at 6:05pm.

The Funsters on the Rehoboth Bandstand

Performing from 8-9:15pm prior to the fireworks and then again until 11pm following the fireworks!

It would be hard to find a band that has more fun than The Funsters. That is why they are still entertaining thousands of people after 12 years of playing together. In this ten-piece band there has not been one personnel change in twelve years. That tells the whole story of the secret of The Funsters’ success. Not only are these guys great musicians who share a pride in each other’s musical abilities, but they are also friends. This spirit and camaraderie on stage is what sets The Funsters apart from other bands offering the same type of musical entertainment.

Launched from the beach at approximately 9:15pm and visible up and down the boardwalk and shoreline.

Monday July 4th

MAC July 4th Club Run/Walk/Ride

8am at the C & D Canal Mike Castle Trail in Bear. Meet at the Mike Castle Trail on the North side of the St. Georges Bridge (the parking area right under the bridge). Enjoy a paved trail without the worry of traffic: run, walk or bring your bike, the distance and pace is all up to you.

Celebration of Freedom Ceremony at Independence Hall

10am. The City of Philadelphia invites you to pay tribute to our great nation through inspiring remarks, patriotic music by the Philly POPS Festival Brass and a reading of the Declaration of Independence guests including Mayor Jim Kenney and Lesllie Odom Jr. (from Hamilton).

Hockessin 4th of July

Neighborhood relays for kids 5 and up whose neighborhood is in the Greater Hockessin – Greenville area. 8:30 – 12:30am (approximately) at the Piedmont fields at the Hockessin Library. Three age groups (6-8; 9-11; 12-14) compete in three events: relay race, softball toss & long jump. There are also fun runs for kids younger than 5 and for 18 years and older. Rain or shine.

The 2nd Annual “Great American Gut Buster Food Devouring Spectacle” hosted by 2Fat Guys American Grill takes place at 2:15pm at George & Sons Seafood.

Parade begins at 3pm on Old Lancaster Pike: music, floats, classic cars and Star-spangled nostalgia. Bring non-perishable food items to help stock the St. John the Beloved Food Closet; there will be a special float in the parade to collect donations. Most needed items listed here.

Fireworks at dusk. You can ride the Wilmington & Western’s Fireworks Express and avoid parking hassles if coming in from another town. Woodside Farm Creamery will be extending their hours so you can have a cone after the fireworks.

Lewes’ Old Fashioned Fourth of July Celebration

Old-fashioned games for children begin on a closed-for-traffic on Second Street at 9am. After the games, the Lewes Independence Day Boat Parade will wind its way down the Lewes – Rehoboth canal from the Roosevelt Inlet to Fisherman’s Wharf.

The Doo-Dah Parade will begin around 5 on Kings Highway, heading down Savannah Road and then onto Second Street.

Party on the Parkway

10 hours of free family friendly entertainment beginning at noon along the Parkway in Philadelphia. Five hours of free concerts, including the KIDZ BOP Kids: Life of the Party Tour and DJ’d by Biz Markie. Fireworks begin at 10pm.

4th of July on the Riverfront

Starts at 3pm at Tubman-Garrett Riverfront Park. Live bands, midway games, live DJ, face painting and other family fun. Fireworks at dusk.

Chadds Ford Winery Red, White, and BBQ

Bethany Beach 4th of July Celebration

Parade begins at noon at the intersection of Pennsylvania and Garfield Parkway. Floats and bikes, marching bands and entertainment groups on trucks, the Downtowners Fancy Brigade (Mummers band) from Philadelphia and the 1st Delaware Regiment Fife and Drum Corp.

Horseshoe-throwing contest at 2:00 at the southwest corner of the Christian Church grounds. The Air National Guard Band of the Northeast provides evening entertainment. Fireworks complete the day at dusk.

Newark 4th of July

At the University of Delaware Athletic Complex. Vendors and entertainment will begin at 6pm, fireworks at dusk.

Camden County Freedom Festival

Free, starts at 5pm. WMGK’s Ray Koob is your Independence Day host at The Freedom Festival at Wiggins Park, next to the BB&T Pavilion. Games & prizes, live music (Michael McDonald at 8pm). Plus, the largest fireworks display in the region over the Delaware River complete with custom, patriotic soundtrack broadcast live on 102.9MGK.

Wiggins Park is adjacent to the Camden Children’s Garden, which will be open from noon to 10pm to help keep the kids busy!

United States Navy Concert Band at Rehoboth Bandstand

Free, begins at 8pm.

The United States Navy Concert Band, the premier wind ensemble of the U.S. Navy, presents a wide array of marches, patriotic selections, orchestral transcriptions and modern wind ensemble repertoire. As the original ensemble of the Navy Band, the Concert Band has been performing public concerts and participating in high-profile events for over 85 years.

Middletown 4th of July Fireworks

Held at dusk/dark at Silver Lake Park, which opens at 6pm. Food will be sold by non-profits.

Dewey Beach Fireworks

Start approximately at 9 on the beach.
