Can I interest you in some fresh baked awesome?

Over the past few years at some point or another, I’ve done the Whole30 challenge, gone paleo and eaten low-carb. It’s just something I like to do when my nutrition has gone off the rails a bit, so I become better aware of my overall diet. If you asked me during those times, I’d have told you how much I miss cheesesteaks and cheesecake, mostly because I like alliteration; those are both foods I only really eat a few times a year. What I was really craving on a daily basis was a good bagel.

My favorite bagels, far and away, are Einstein Bros. bagels, but the nearest store is a bit of a hike now that we’re in Landenberg. For years it was my home away from home, when Jake was in Montessori full day and Maverick was in half day preschool. It was our go-to place to get lunch and hang out for a bit to kill time until the school day ended.

So when I was asked if I’d like to receive a gift card to visit Einstein Bros. and try out their newest bagel offering, I couldn’t hit send on that reply email fast enough. An excuse to go load up on some soft, chewy bagels with double whipped schmear? Don’t have to ask me twice!

So, after an early morning driving around the Temple campus checking out potential housing rentals for Jake (sob), we detoured on our way home and picked up a family pack of the new Twist ‘N Dip bagels. The family pack was $11.99 and included our choice of two full size schmears (“full size? Really?” I asked the bemused cashier.)

We may or may not have also grabbed a pizza bagel and a cheddar bacon bagel to devour on the ride home. Because: mmmmmm, bagels.

Bagel pet peeves of mine (yes, I have them):

  • when the outside of a bagel is really tough to bite through— I’ve actually cracked a tooth that way, although I’m sure it was in bad shape to begin with
  • when you’re eating a bagel and the cream cheese is all squeezing through the other side. The Twist ‘N Dip suffers from neither of these bagel bugaboos.

What makes the Twist ‘N Dip a genius evolution of the time-honored perfect breakfast on-the-go, the bagel? Simple. It’s scored before baking, so you can easily break it apart along the perforations and dip into your fave of Einstein’s 16 flavors of  super-soft signature schmear. So it’s a perfect amount of cream cheese in every bite! They were a huge brunch hit here— gone in minutes— and I’m thinking they’d be great for party trays, bringing into the office for when you have to eat at the desk and especially sharing with small kids. For my part, I need a bagel in the car to carb load before a race and I anticipate less melty cream cheese on my face and lap with these.

And— AND!!— for every Twist N’ Dip sold Einstein Bros. Bagels will donate a bagel to someone in need.

Between now and July 31, Einstein Bros. want to see you play (with your food) and show off your best Twist ‘N Dip moves.
