Yokai Family Weekend and Flea Market

Yokai are supernatural creatures and spirits from Japanese folklore that live all around us. Learn about them in this all ages weekend event at Shofuso! Families can participate in a scavenger hunt and win prizes. Listen to kamishibai tales of ogres, water imps, and goblins, and craft a yokai to take home!
All activities are free after regular admission.
Flea Market (October 26th only): Japanese goods such as clothing, books, toys, dishware, and more donated by members of the community, with all proceeds going to support the JASGP.
Scavenger Hunt: follow the clues and find real objects around Shofuso that inspired yokai myths
Kamishibai Storytelling: experience Japan’s classic paper theater style of storytelling with slightly spooky stories every hour starting at noon
Crafts: make spooky origami
