The Curator Presents: “Quaker Farmers”
September 24 @ 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm
$10Join Rockwood’s new Curator, Kristen Matulewicz, for a special exploration of a museum treasure steeped in legend. In 2022, Rockwood returned to its collection what is believed to be the largest known “Quaker Farmer” Chinese export service. Totaling over 50 pieces, this set once belonged to Elizabeth Jefferis, sister-in-law to Joseph Shipley, builder of Rockwood. Hear about the legend of the service’s origins, controversies and provenance. Tea and coffee will be offered, and the museum will be open one hour prior to the program. $10, $8 NCC residents, $2 Art-Reach Member; free for RPPS Members. Ages 14-adults.
