It’s getting to be that time of year when we start getting pretty confident about spring actually arriving for good. Activate spring cleaning mode: time to get outside, kick open some windows, do some scrubbing and decluttering, and flip out the winter wardrobe for warm weather gear.

If you’ve got kids, it generally means it’s also the time of year that you realize that half the clothes they own are way too small and also last year’s Easter outfit never got worn again like you thought it would. Consider boxing any gently worn children’s spring and summer clothing, winter coats, sweaters, boots etc. up and dropping it off at Saturday’s Spring Greening event by Cradles to Crayons.

Your spring cleaning donation not only helps declutter your house (in a green way, another way to celebrate Earth Day!) but can make a real impact on the lives of local children.

Cradle to Crayons’ mission is to provide “children from birth through age 12, living in homeless or low-income situations, with the essential items they need to thrive – at home, at school and at play.” Staff and volunteers will be manning donation sites from 10am to 1pm.

There are tons of collection sites throughout Pennsylvania, but for Delaware residents the closest ones would be The Wardrobe located at 1929 W 9th Street in Chester or possibly Westtown School, 975 Westtown Road in West Chester.

Current most needed items are listed here.
