Remember rolling coins in paper to trade in? How about collecting quarters in a cardboard map of the United States? 3D Coin Art is a new, fun way to save and display your pennies (and nickels). Enter our giveaway below!
Kids love to make things and then put them on display.
Even my older kids still like to get those architecture LEGO kits, building the White House or Eiffel Tower, then placing them on their labeled pedestal and onto a prominent shelf. There’s something about a reminder of the process, of time methodically spent and a project successfully and objectively completed, that’s very satisfying.
3D Coin Art sent us their American Flag set to review. This 3D “puzzle” combines that need to undertake a project with saving your pennies to create a practical work of art that’s doable for even the youngest hands, yet impressive and attractive to display.
The American Flag holds $25 in pennies and nickels in a sturdy frame, and is a fun and satisfying way to coax kids into saving money.
In a stroke of genius, the instructions include a recipe for polishing your coins so they’re gleaming, making the project even more appealing to younger kids and the tactile-sensitive. Also included are two trays where you can place your coins so you know when you’ve saved enough to fill the entire flag: also great for younger kids, who might get frustrated if they couldn’t complete the project in one sitting.
A 3D Coin Art puzzle seems like a fun gift to give to high schoolers and college students, already filled in. It would serve as a bit of decor for their room, but also serves as an emergency $25— not so easy to access and spend, but there if they really needed it.
The 3D Coin Art American Flag sells online for $19.99 plus shipping. An Empire State Building kit is also available; you can find both at Toys R Us.
