Wilmington Ballet Academy of the Dance: 50th Annual Nutcracker

Experience the magic of the story of young Clara on Christmas night as she is tangled in a battle between the Nutcracker and the Mouse King, and travels to the Land of Sweets. Snowflakes become dancing maidens. Hot Chocolate, Mandarin Tea, Arabian Coffee, Marzipan, and Mother Ginger and her children perform for Clara’s entertainment. With the breathtakingly beautiful dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy and her Cavalier, Clara’s fairy tale adventure concludes as she awakens next morning under the Christmas tree. Wilmington Ballet’s performance features New York City Ballet principal dancers Abi Stafford and Adrian Danchig-Waring as the Sugar Plum Fairy and her Cavalier. Live music will be provided by the Wilmington Ballet Orchestra and Chorus and the beloved Voloshky Ukrainian Dance Ensemble will perform. This show is appropriate for all ages.
