The Air Mobility Command Museum is starting its 2017 Open Cockpit Day on Saturday, March 18. This event is repeated every third Saturday of the month through November.
Open Cockpit Day provides the public full access to many of the museum’s aircraft from 10:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. if weather permits and tour guides are available. Tour guides are stationed in the open aircraft to describe the history of the planes and their missions. They are often retired crew members of these airplanes so their descriptions are from personal experience and bring the aircraft to life for visitors.
For more information please email Johnny Taylor, Director. You may request a tour of an aircraft on a day other than Open Cockpit Day by emailing Paul George, Tour Scheduler. (Aircraft that may not be toured: A-26, B-17 (physically fit DVs only), C-45, CG-4A, HH-43, F-101, F-106, TG-4, BT-13, PT-17, and T-33
In addition, many venues do not project an end time for their events. In those cases, we selected our best guess, but the duration of your event may vary.
