Newark National Night Out

Academy Street from 6 to 9pm, hosted by the Newark Police Department (NPD), University of Delaware Police Department (UDPD) and Aetna Hose, Hook & Ladder Company.
- Meet UDPD K9 officers and bicycle officers, and go into their large police truck.
- Play bean bag toss with UD officers and try on “drunk” goggles that simulate intoxication.
- Aetna will train people how to use fire extinguishers and will put on a demo of a vehicular extrication.
- NPD will showcase their SWAT truck, motorcycles, evidence van, K9 demo, and Cpl. James Spadola’s acoustic duo Almost Acoustic with Morgan Wright will be performing.
- Hot dogs and hamburgers, UD Creamery, and more.
