Dancing in the Park is presented in conjunction with National Dance Day 2016, an annual celebration launched by the Dizzy Feet Foundation in 2010 which “encourages Americans to embrace dance as a fun and positive way to maintain good health and combat obesity.” New Castle County has embraced the day as a part of our Live Healthy New Castle County campaign with our partner See You Outside, Delaware. The event is free, and both individuals and groups of all ages and abilities are encouraged to participate.
Individuals and dance groups will learn the National Dance Day routine and then perform as a large group flash mob style. The performance will be filmed. Dance along demonstrations will feature a wide range of dance styles. After the dance instruction stay to dance into the night with DJ EA!
Bring chairs, water bottles, blankets, your appetite.
No pets at this event, please. Since pop-up thunderstorms are not uncommon this time of year, you can call the Special Event Hotline (302) 395-5659 for updates if the weather looks iffy.
In addition, many venues do not project an end time for their events. In those cases, we selected our best guess, but the duration of your event may vary.
