Curated Character: Identity Through the Lens of Edward Bringhurst V

April 5 @ 1:00 pm

Free

Starting with the opening reception, experience the first critical look at a lifetime of image making of Edward Bringhurst V (1884-1939), on view through August 31, 2025. The photographs demonstrate the talents and unique point of view of a queer photographer from early Wilmington, which are just beginning to be understood.

The reception is a family-friendly introduction into Bringhurst’s unique view of Rockwood, travel, friendships and the ways that the new medium of photography was being used to explore identity. The opening reception includes snacks, beverages and a scavenger hunt. Reservations suggested. Reception is free; additional visits to the exhibition are included with the price of museum admission. All ages.

Opening Reception, Saturday, April 5, 1-5 pm.
