Festivals
Get your pierogi fix along with music, dancing, rides and games on the Riverfront Friday and Saturday at the 60th anniversary of St. Hedwig’s Polish Festival.
The Townsend Fair at Townsend Municipal Park kicks off Saturday morning with a parade and will have plenty of fun for the kids, along with food and pet contests.
The Haedalia Festival at Kranz Hill Farm in Newark promises demonstrations, historical crafts, raffle and silent auction, face painting, animals and live music.

IX Preview Weekend
The Delaware Art Museum is highlighting sci fi and fantasy in contemporary art with their Imaginative Realism exhibit. This preview weekend will include workshops and discussions with 16 contemporary artists internationally recognized for their contributions to Star Wars, The Lord of the Rings, Avatar, Marvel, DC Comics and more. Cosplay is encouraged, Magic: The Gathering will be played, Star Wars: The Force Awakens will be viewed outdoors, food trucks will be present. Schedule and details here.
Oktoberfest Loop
Pay a one-time $5 cover and gain entry Friday night to nightspots throughout Wilmington (mostly around the Trolley Square area, full list here). Proceeds benefit the Urban Bike Project.
Free Museum and Park Admissions

- National State Parks are waiving admission fees on Saturday.

Learn to Tag Monarchs
It’s peak monarch migration season and you can help catch, tag and release monarch butterflies at the DuPont Environmental Education Center and Brandywine Creek State Park in Northern Delaware or Bombay Hook National Wildlife Refuge in Sussex County.
Talleyville Fire Department Open House and Antique Car Show
Benefits the Ronald McDonald House of Delaware. First State Flea will join this event at Concord Plaza Corporate Center (off Silverside Road near 202).
Auburn Heights Invitational Historic Auto Display
Historic vehicles, special programming, food and fun. Proceeds benefit the Marshall Steam Museum and Friends of Auburn Heights Preserve.
Alpaca Farm Day
On National Alpaca Farm Days (!) you can visit alpacas and other farm critters at Hill Billy Hills Alpaca Farm in Newark. Feel alpaca fleece, shop alpaca products, feed some alpacas, view spinning demonstrations.
Jam Session (Canning Class)
