
Growing at Rockwood: The Grand Garden Tour

Join Rockwood staff for a tour of the estate’s 170-year-old gardens. Highlights include Rockwood’s original 1850s pleasure garden, the modern apothecary garden, one of America’s oldest attached conservatories and much more. Rockwood was built as a specimen garden at the same time as the Gothic revival mansion – this tour will discuss the unique origins of the plants collected throughout its history and their popularization from global colonization efforts by Western powers. Tour involves some stairs. $20, $15 NCC residents, $2 Art-Reach members*, free for RPPS members*. Ages 14-adults.
